Independent Living

Baycrest Village residents also have the benefit of our Comprehensive Health and Wellness Program, which is designed to help you stay active, healthy and independent for the longest possible time. This program provides a wide range of services to meet and support our residents' health requirements, including:

Assisted Living

Baycrest Village's Assisted Living Suites are staffed by caregivers who have been carefully selected. Their goal is to help our residents achieve maximum independence. The caregivers serve in a wide variety of ways, such as assistance with housekeeping, laundry, personal care and medication management.

Personal care and support services are also available. An initial assessment is completed prior to move-in, evaluated after 30 days and then again as needed to meet your personal care and service needs. Additional care and services, beyond what is included in your base rent, will be individually calculated using our point system assessment tool. The number of points is based upon the services required and amount of time it takes for staff to provide these services. You can review our assessment system and learn how the point system works.

Services included in the monthly base rent:

Memory Care

Our program is designed to meet the more intensive care needs of those in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. Monthly rent includes a broad range of services that ensure personalized care, comfort, and attention. In addition to the services offered in our Transitions program, we can also provide assistance with mobility, bathing, dressing, and incontinence care.

Your Monthly Rent Includes the Following:

  • Routine room maintenance
  • Scheduling and coordination of transportation needs
  • Full calendar of activities

Additional personal care services are available as needed for a fee.

Additional Services:

Additional services are tailored to meet your personal care and service needs. An initial assessment is completed prior to move-in, evaluated after 30 days, quarterly, and then again as frequently as needed. This assessment will determine how much personal care is required. Charges for added care and services are based upon the care required and the amount of time it takes for staff to provide these additional services.

Comprehensive Nursing and Rehabilitative Care

Baycrest Village Health Center is an 84-bed care facility offering comprehensive nursing and therapy services to residents with complex medical needs.

Individuals come to Baycrest Village Health Center with a wide range of medical, nursing and rehabilitation needs. Many of our residents have been recently hospitalized and need further rehabilitative care but no longer require the intensive monitoring and attention provided in an acute-care setting. Some seek short-term therapy for conditions that don’t require a hospital stay, and others require longer stays to meet their complex medical needs. At Baycrest Village, you’ll find comprehensive medical services and expert rehabilitation professionals.

Intermediate and Skilled Care

Intermediate Care at Baycrest Village provides continuous 24 hour-a-day caregivers and nursing, which includes personal care and support activities.

Services of Baycrest Village Health Center are provided by our staff in a manner that is encouraging and understanding of each resident’s particular needs. Our licensed nurses are well trained to care for the often complex needs of our residents. They are assisted by a team of physical, occupational, speech therapists and aides, who are available six days a week. This means therapy can be arranged to best meet our residents’ schedules.

Prior to discharge, a member of our Social Services team helps prepare each resident to return home or to another living setting.
